OUR STANDARDS ・ WHAT MAKES US STAND OUT

Why Orlando Choose Us

After 35 years building pole barns across Orlando, we've learned what separates barns that last 50+ years from ones that start failing in 10. Here's what makes Buildings By Bill different.

All In-House Labor (Except Electric, Plumbing, HVAC)

We're the ones building your barn—no subcontractor shuffle. You get consistent quality from the same crew, start to finish. When you call with a question, you're talking to the people who actually built your project.

I'm Bill Gardner, and I work on-site with my crew on every project. That's not something most builders can say, but it's how I've done business for 35+ years. If my name is on the building, I'm there making sure it's done right.

Premium Materials That Last

Florida's humidity will destroy cheap fasteners and low-grade lumber within years. We use quality materials designed for Orlando's challenging climate—corrosion-resistant hardware, properly treated lumber, and engineered connections that can handle hurricane wind loads.

Your building is an investment that should last 50+ years, not a liability that needs replacing in 10. The price difference between quality materials and cheap materials is about 15%—but the difference in longevity is 200%.

Custom Approach, Not Cookie-Cutter

We listen to what you need, then build it. Every property is different, and every customer has specific requirements. We design and build accordingly—matching your property's aesthetic, accommodating your site's unique challenges, and incorporating the features that matter to you.

In our decades building across Ocala, we've never built the same barn twice. That's because we're not pushing a template—we're building what you actually want.

We Outbuild Our Competitors, Not Out-Bid Them

If you're looking for the cheapest option, we're probably not your guys. But if you want quality craftsmanship built by a licensed contractor who'll be there 5 years from now if you need something, let's talk.

Our barns have survived multiple direct hurricane hits with zero structural damage. Several of our customers have told us their Buildings By Bill barn was the only structure on their property that came through a hurricane completely intact. That's the difference between building to minimum code and building to last.

What Our Customers Say

Hurricane-Tested Quality
"We had Bill build our horse barn several years ago and several hurricanes later the structure is just like new. Bill and his crew were very fast in putting up our barn. Bill was able to offer several suggestions thanks to his years of experience. He built us a 4 stall, feed room and tack room barn with a center aisle. We couldn't be happier."
James and Vanessa Butts
Amazing Craftsmanship
"Just wanted to do a shout out to Bill to let him know that I appreciate his hard work, good pricing, willing to work with me and amazing craftsmanship! I am very happy with my spectacular chicken coop which is more like a chicken castle. It is very upscale and goes very well on our ranch and is real eye candy as well as functional. I do not hesitate to recommend you because I know you will do a good job!"
Christine Dickson

Beautiful Results, On Time
"Buildings by Bill recently built and completed the building of our horse barn. The barn is more beautiful in person than the pictures. They completed the barn in the time promised and the crew was both courteous and very knowledgeable. The quality is unmatched. We love it and the horses love it too. I highly recommend them."

Common Questions

How much does a custom pole barn cost in Orlando?

Costs vary based on size, type, and features. Instead of fixed prices, here’s a quick estimate guide so you can ballpark your budget before calling:

  • Roof-only structures: around $14–$15 per sq. ft.
  • Fully enclosed buildings: about $26–$28 per sq. ft.
  • High-end builds (horse barns, prefab systems, Dutch doors, or premium finishes): $38–$52 per sq. ft.

Every project is unique, and we’ll provide a detailed quote once we understand your specific layout and requirements.

Do you use subcontractors?

We handle all labor in-house with my own crew, except for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work which requires licensed specialists. The rest is built by our team for consistent quality. I'm on-site throughout your project, not just during the sales pitch.

How long does construction take?

Build times depend on the project’s size and complexity, but we move fast and efficiently.

  • Smaller barns can be completed in as little as 2 weeks once permitting is approved.
  • Medium to large projects typically take 6–12 weeks from start to finish.

Weather and county approvals can affect schedules, but we communicate every step of the way to keep things on track.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Saint Cloud and serve all of Central Florida, including Ocala, Kissimmee, Orlando, Winter Haven, Lakeland, and surrounding areas. We're willing to travel for the right project—give us a call and we'll let you know if we can make it work.

Are your buildings hurricane-rated?

Absolutely. All our structures are built to meet or exceed Florida's building codes and hurricane wind load specifications. We've had multiple customer buildings survive direct hurricane hits with zero structural damage—that's what happens when you use quality materials and proper engineering instead of building to minimum code.

Can you match my property's existing buildings?

Yes. We custom-design each project to match your property's aesthetic. Whether you need roofing that matches your house, siding that coordinates with existing structures, or specific architectural details, we tailor the design to fit your property.
