Buildings By Bill has been building custom barns, pole barns, garages, workshops, barndominiums, and metal buildings throughout Central Florida for over 35 years. Our approach is hands-on, quality-first, and built around longevity over low bids. Here is what that actually means on every job we build.
1. Hands-On Personal Involvement
Unlike many owners who act primarily as salespersons, Bill Gardner coordinates every phase of the job and works on-site alongside his crew. He does not hand the project off to a separate team after the contract is signed. He is personally present on the build site, working alongside his crew to make sure standards are met from the first stake to the final inspection.
2. All In-House Labor — No “Subcontractor Shuffle”
Buildings By Bill performs all construction in-house with our own dedicated crew. Framing, roofing, siding, concrete, and finishing work are all completed by a long-term, experienced team that has worked together for years.
We only use outside subcontractors for trades that require specialized licensing — electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. The goal is simple: eliminate the quality-control issues and communication breakdowns that come from juggling multiple subcontractor crews on every job.
3. Quality Over Lowest Bid
Bill puts it plainly: he would rather out-build competitors than out-bid them. We use premium materials specifically chosen to withstand the harsh Florida climate — no cheap alternatives that deteriorate quickly. Every building is engineered to meet or exceed Florida building codes and hurricane wind-load specifications.
4. Customization
We avoid the one-size-fits-all approach. Every project is treated as unique, tailored to the specific property, intended use, and the owner’s needs — not built off a standard template you will see on a dozen other lots.
5. Transparency and Accountability
We prefer to have the difficult conversations upfront. If a customer’s vision is not feasible — cost overruns, code issues, site limitations — we will say so before the contract is signed rather than disappoint you later.
